Workshops inspired by the nerikomi technique
Instructor: Maria
Duration: 2.5 hours
Level: Beginner
We invite you to exceptional workshops inspired by the Asian art of nerikomi – a technique of combining various colored ceramic clays. This is a great opportunity to experiment with color and create unique patterns.
What will happen?
- Working with clay slabs at a table in comfortable conditions.
- A technique accessible to everyone, including those with no prior experience with clay. The workshop is a standalone event – no prior participation in other classes is required.
- Opportunity to create both harmonious, regular patterns and free, expressive compositions in a marble style.
During the workshops, light beige, black, red, and beige clays will be available. The nerikomi technique, also known as agate or marbled clay, will particularly appeal to those who appreciate natural patterns inspired by stones and subtle earth tones.
What can you make?
We recommend creating a small bowl, mug, plate, or jewelry tray – you can make up to two items during the workshop. An experienced instructor will be with the group throughout the session: demonstrating how to work with colored clays, helping to realize ideas, and advising on technical matters.
After the classes, the works will be glazed and fired at a high temperature, making them fully functional.
The classes last 2.5 hours.
We invite you to create together!
