Pottery Wheel Workshops – Level I

We warmly invite you to our pottery wheel workshops!

The course is intended for people who:

• Are just beginning their ceramic journey,

• Want to refresh their basic wheel-throwing skills,

• Need structured, clear, and well-organized instruction.

The workshops consist of 12 meetings, each lasting 2 hours, giving a total of 24 hours of practice and theory.

What will you find in the course program?

During the classes we will focus on:

1. Basics of ceramic technology:

• Types of clay bodies and their properties,

• Preparing and recycling clay,

• Overview of tools, accessories, and pottery wheels,

• Firing technology and the full production process.

2. Practical wheel-throwing skills:

• Preparing clay for throwing,

• Learning to centre,

• Throwing simple forms: cylinders, bowls, plates,

• Gradual introduction of more advanced shapes.

3. Additional ceramic techniques and processes:

• Trimming and refining pieces,

• Drying and preparing works for further processing.

Classes are led by qualified instructors who will introduce you to the world of ceramics with passion and clarity. We work with high-quality clay bodies from renowned manufacturers such as Sibelco, SIO and George & Schneider.

Each participant receives an individual workstation equipped with a Shimpo RK3 pottery wheel, ensuring comfort and effective learning. Warm drinks, water and aprons are also included in the course price.

In the case of absence, it is possible to make up classes during Open Studio hours. Please contact the instructor or the studio directly to arrange a specific day on which the instructor is supervising Open Studio. However, please note that during make-up sessions, the instructor is not assigned exclusively to the participant — they will answer questions and supervise the work, providing guidance and suggestions.
