Sibelco WM2502B Clay 10kg
Sibelco WM2502B Clay – warm, finely grogged stoneware body
Sibelco WM2502B is a finely grogged stoneware body with a warm color that transitions from apricot and yellow to khaki as the temperature increases. It contains 25% grog (0–0.2 mm), which gives it good stability while remaining suitable for throwing and making vessels with a relatively smooth surface.
Characteristics:
- Fired color: apricot, yellow to khaki
- Application: throwing
- Form: plastic clay, 10 kg packs
- Firing temperature range: 1000–1280°C
- Grog content: 25% grog, 0–0.2 mm grain
- Drying shrinkage: approx. 5.8%
- Firing shrinkage: approx. 5.5% at 1200°C
- Water absorption after firing: approx. 2.0% at 1200°C
Recommended for utilitarian ware, mugs, bowls, plates, vases, and decorative works. The body's color can affect glaze shades, thus yielding particularly interesting results with transparent glazes, celadons, effect glazes, and decorations that leave parts of the bisque exposed. The warm, variable coloration means that even from the same firing, vessels can have slightly different shades, which fits well with the handcrafted nature of the series.
The given parameters are approximate. The final color, shrinkage, water absorption, and glaze behavior depend on the kiln, atmosphere, soaking time, and firing curve. Before making a larger series, we recommend a technological test with the chosen clay and glaze.
