Sibelco K3010 Clay – grogged stoneware clay for larger forms

Sibelco K3010 is a cork-brown stoneware body with a distinct, natural structure. It contains 30% black grog with a grain size of 0–1.0 mm, which helps support larger forms and reduces warping during drying. The warm color of the fired body can be a decorative element on its own, especially on unglazed surfaces.

• Application: hand-building, slab work, and sculpture
• Form: plastic clay, packed in 10 kg
• Firing temperature range: 1000–1200°C
• Grog content: 30% black grog, 0–1.0 mm grain
• Drying shrinkage: approx. 5.5%
• Firing shrinkage: approx. 1.3% at 1040°C
• Water absorption after firing: approx. 10.5% at 1040°C

Recommended for sculpture, pots, vases, lamps, decorative vessels, and larger objects built from slabs or coils. It can also be used on the wheel for forms with slightly thicker walls when a rustic surface character is desired. The warm, cork-like shade and palpable texture make it a good match for wood, linen, and other natural materials in rustic or Scandinavian interiors.

The parameters provided are indicative. The final color, shrinkage, water absorption, and glaze behavior depend on the kiln, atmosphere, soaking time, and firing curve. Before producing a larger series, we recommend a technological test with the chosen clay and glaze.
