K3010 clay – brown mass with medium fireclay (0–1 mm)

K3010 is a versatile, medium-grain fireclay (0–1 mm), designed for stability and durability in forms. With 30% fireclay, it performs well in both larger vessels and hand-built pieces. After firing, it takes on natural shades of brown—from light brown to dark brown—creating an organic, earthy finish. Suitable for turning, carving, and the construction of larger utility forms.

Characteristic:

• Color after firing: from light to dark brown
• Application: turning, hand forming, larger molds
• Form: plastic clay, packed in 10 kg bags
• Firing temperature range: 1000–1200 °C
• Fireclay content: 30%, grain 0–1 mm
• Shrinkage on drying: approx. 5.5%
• Shrinkage when fired at 1200 °C: approx. 6%
• Water absorption after firing at 1200 °C: approx. 2%

Thanks to its high fireclay content and stable structure, K3010 maintains its shape well, even in larger projects. Its natural brown tone harmonizes perfectly with transparent, matte, and semi-transparent glazes, creating strong, expressive surface effects.
