Sibelco Beton 2002 Clay 10kg
Sibelco Beton 2002 Clay, also known as Betongrau 2002 – concrete-grey, finely grogged stoneware body
Sibelco Beton 2002, also known as Betongrau 2002, is a finely grogged stoneware body with a modern, concrete-grey color. As the temperature increases, the shade becomes deeper and more mineral. The 20% grog content (0–0.2 mm) improves stability but does not create an aggressively rough surface.
Characteristics:
- Fired color: cream-grey to concrete-grey
- Application: hand-building, slab work, and sculpture
- Form: plastic clay, packed in 10 kg
- Firing range: 1000–1250°C
- Grog content: 20% grog, 0–0.2 mm grain
- Drying shrinkage: approximately 5.8%
- Firing shrinkage: approximately 8.3% at 1200°C
- Water absorption after firing: approximately 3.2% at 1200°C; approximately 0.5% at 1250°C
Recommended for utilitarian pottery, planters, lamps, vases, sculptures, and modern decorative objects. Transparent and semi-transparent glazes preserve the visible grey character of the bisque, while light glazes create a strong contrast. Increasingly chosen by interior designers and studios creating series in Japandi or industrial styles, where a raw, concrete aesthetic is valued.
The given parameters are approximate. The final color, shrinkage, absorbency, and glaze behavior depend on the kiln, atmosphere, soaking time, and firing curve. Before producing a larger series, we recommend a technological test with the chosen body and glaze.
