Sibelco Ateliermassen Weiss Clay – smooth stoneware body without grog

Sibelco Ateliermassen Weiss is a light, smooth stoneware body without added grog. It is plastic, pleasant to throw, and provides an even surface, making it suitable as a versatile studio clay. After firing, it takes on a light cream color, which serves as a neutral background for most glazes and decorations.

Recommended for mugs, cups, bowls, plates, vases, and other smooth-surfaced vessels. It also works well in classes and for daily studio work, especially where easy finishing, trimming, and a clear glaze color are important. Thanks to the lack of grog, it is also a good option for beginners on the pottery wheel who are just learning to feel the clay under their fingers.

The parameters given are indicative. The final color, shrinkage, water absorption, and glaze behavior depend on the kiln, atmosphere, soaking time, and firing curve. Before producing a larger series, we recommend a technological test with the selected clay and glaze.
