Duration: 2 hours
Level: Beginner
Weekly Pottery Workshops
We invite you to regular pottery sessions at the table – for those who want to dedicate a fixed time during the week to clay, their own projects, and creative relaxation.
The workshops are also suitable for individuals who have never worked with ceramics before. You don't need your own materials or experience – the instructors will show you everything you need to start working and bring your first idea to life.
During the sessions, we work at the table, using various techniques of hand-building, modeling, and decorating ceramics. Each participant can work on their own project or draw inspiration from ideas proposed by the instructor.
The instructors are with the group throughout the entire session – demonstrating necessary techniques, assisting with construction and joining elements, advising on clay body selection, decorating, and glazing, and supporting more challenging projects.
There is no single mandatory project for the entire group. You can create a mug, bowl, plate, vase, sculpture, or a completely unique form. If you already have experience with ceramics, you can come with your own idea and work on it with the instructor's support.
During the sessions, you can use, among others:
- pinch pot and coil building techniques,
- slab building,
- modeling and sculpting,
- various clay bodies,
- engobes, underglazes, and glazes,
- decorative techniques such as nerikomi or agateware.
Throughout the work, instructors also explain necessary technical aspects – including how to properly join elements, dry pieces, prepare them for firing, or choose a decoration method. All of this happens in the context of projects being realized by participants.
