Dune mugs are handcrafted from scratch from at least three types of multi-colored, noble ceramic mass - stoneware. I do not use any molds for their production, which makes each mug unique. Everyone is different. Everyone is supposed to be different. Everyone has their own character, weaker and stronger sides. Everyone is unique. This unconventionality best describes the mugs in this series.
The idea behind this series is to introduce into your homes unique everyday objects that will be more intriguing than their distant, form-made and repetitive cousins.
The color transitions used in them are a fixed movement of clay, which is created when working on a potter's wheel. It is a technique that took me many months to perfect, but the end result, in my humble opinion, was worth the effort. It does not mean that I have finished experimenting with Dunes :) Their result is, for example, different handles, texture or capacity. This additionally distinguishes them from each other.
The cups are not glazed on the outside so as not to cover overlapping patterns. On the other hand, they are pleasantly smooth to the touch and stain-resistant, as each cup is hand-polished by me.
It is worth writing a few words about the form of Dune cups themselves. As a person who is able to sip tea all day long, I decided to adjust the shape of the cups so that the hot brew would not lose its temperature so quickly. Thanks to the shape of the base in the shape of a "barrel" tapering upwards, you can enjoy hot tea for a long time. Thus, it allowed me to create cups with a larger capacity - about 700ml. In addition, the well-thought-out ergonomics of the cup allows it to be comfortably held with both hands. This is an advantage the usefulness of which can be appreciated on cooler days and evenings.
On my website, I put several color versions of the inner part of the cups to choose from: black, white and transparent.
Of course, all Dune cups are dishwasher safe and the glaze used is food-safe.
